Roll the Bones

I like this song by Rush for 3 reasons:

1)I love Rock and Roll, especially from that era

2)The lyrics are a great anthem for the Clueless life

3)I enjoy shooting craps.

Famous drummer and lyricist Neil Peart described the motivation for the song (and the album) as such:

No matter what kind of song you choose to play, you’re betting your life on it, for good or ill, and what you believe is what you are… No one can ever be sure, in this best of all possible random universes.
That’s why the essence of these songs is: if there’s a chance, you might as well take it. So what if some parts of life are a crap shoot? Get out there and shoot the crap.

Some hardcore Rush fans were turned off by the experimental rap section towards the end, but I find it brilliant, and not just because it ends with get busy!

What’s the deal?
Spin the wheel
If the dice are hot…take a shot
Play your cards. Show us what you got
What you’re holding
If the cards are cold
Don’t go folding
Lady Luck is golden
She favors the bold
That’s cold
Stop throwing stones
The night has a thousand saxophones
So get out there and rock
And roll the bones
Get busy!
